May 11, 2024Your health.
It’s your everything.
It’s your most important asset.
Without it, you don’t have anything.
If you’re not in peak health today, you have to act now.
Before you neglect it.
Before you accept it.
Before it’s too late.
Health is a matter of choice, not a mystery of chance. - Aristotle
Your health is your responsibility
Your health is your greatest responsibility.
How can it not be? It is called YOUR health for a reason, isn’t it?
Nevertheless, chances are you don’t treat it like that.
You treat it like it’s just given.
You treat it like it’s a lottery ticket.
You treat it like it’s Russian roulette.
It’s not.
Great health isn’t given, it’s actively created.
Your health is less about your genes than it is about your lifestyle.
If you struggling with your health right now, you need to act.
Before you’re going to make this common mistake…
The biggest health mistake
People struggling with their health make this crucial mistake somewhere down the line.
They live their life, not thinking about their health.
They live their life like “unhealthy” doesn’t exist.
They live their life like nothing bad will happen.
They take their health for granted.
When you’re young, you probably won’t notice.
Health decline is slow.
But over time, the cracks starts to show themself.
- Weak muscles
- Weight gain
- Low energy
- Stiff joints
- Illness
- Pain
Until you hit rock bottom.
This is where the big mistake is made.
You start acting as if you don’t care.
You convince yourself that great health isn’t within your reach.
You blame your genes, hormones or even luck.
Pretending that you're content with your situation.
Perceiving great health as impossible, mere luck or something “just” you lack.
Sacrificing your autonomy and self-control, while choosing to complain, compensate, or ignore the issue.
This behavior will make you a slave to your own body.
It is a death blow to your well-being and quality of life.
Do you want that to happen? I think not.
Then don’t make this mistake.
Here’s what I suggest you do instead:
The solution to poor health
The solution is simple: Make your health a top priority.
This may sound simplistic to some and absurd to others.
The truth is, if you neglect your health, it will disrupt your life.
You risk turning yourself into a liability to yourself and others.
Simply put:
You must take control of your health or it will control you.
Here are 5 steps to take full control of your health:
1. Make a list of your top 5 priorities in life
Be real with yourself. Look at your life and ask:
- Why are these things my top priorities?
- What value do they add to my life?
- How important are they really?
Score their significance on a scale of 1-10
2. Why you need great health
Never take your health for granted.
Take time and reflect on it and ask:
- How does good health contribute to my quality of life and wellbeing?
- What activities or experiences does good health allow me to enjoy?
- What opportunities would I miss out on without good health?
3. What happens if you lose your health
Consider the impact of a health crisis.
- What would be the impact on me?
- What would be the effect on my loved ones?
- How would it affect my work or business?
4. What your current priorities are
Write down everything currently higher on your list than health.
Challenge yourself:
- Why are these things more important than your health?
- Would they still be priorities if I got seriously ill?
If you struggle with this step, explain to your loved ones why these things are greater priorities than your health.
5. Commit to Your Health
It's time to put your knowledge into action. Consider what you need to change and how you will make these changes.
Hold yourself accountable. Ask yourself:
- What aspects of my health am I committed to improving?
- Which habits will I change to better support my health?
- What concrete actions will I take to make these changes?
- Make an honest, lasting commitment to your health.
"Health is like money; we never have a true idea of its value until we lose it." – Josh Billings
Don’t be that person.
It's time to make your health a top priority.
No more excuses.
It will be the best choice you ever made.
